  Safety Tips for the Public

If your vehicle breaks down here are some helpful hints:

Signal, slow down gradually and pull over to the shoulder of the road or highway

     Switch on emergency flashers

     Call or wait for assistance

Never stand directly behind or in front of your vehicle due to other traffic passing by not

If a law enforcement officer pulls you over:

Pull slowly and carefully off to the right shoulder of the road or closest shoulder

At night, turn on your interior light if possible or stop in a well lit area

If not stopping immediately, signal the officer of your intentions to comply

Always remain in your vehicle unless otherwise instructed by the officer
